[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1915, June 22, 1957 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED TWELVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-ONE, ENTITLED "AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES TO APPOINT IN THE REGULAR FORCE RESERVE OFFICER PILOTS WHO ARE GRADUATES OF THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE OR PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE FLYING SCHOOL."



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Twelve hundred and thirty-one, entitled "An Act authorizing the President of the Philippines to appoint in the Regular Force reserve officer pilots who are graduates of the United States Air Force or Philippine Air Force Flying: School," is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section four (b) and (c) of Republic Act Numbered Two hundred and ninety-one and under such rules and regulations as the President of the Philippines may prescribe, the President, within the period of two years from the effectivity of this amendatory Act and upon recommendation of the Secretary of National Defense, is hereby authorized to appoint not to exceed sixty reserve officer pilots into the Regular Force, Philippine Air Force, in grades higher than second lieutenant who are graduates of the Philippine Air Force Flying School or the United States Air Force Flying School, and non-pilot reserve officers on active duty who possess technical qualifications necessary for the operation and maintenance of aircraft: Provided, That not less than twenty-five per centum of those who shall be commissioned under the provisions of this Act shall be non-pilots."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
