[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6270, June 19, 1971 ]

AN ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAGALLANES, IN THE SECOND DISTRICT OF SORSOGON, TO BE KNOWN AS THE MAGALLANES NATIONAL VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. There shall be established under the direct supervision of the Director of Vocational Education, a national vocational high school in Magallanes, in the Second District of the Province of Sorsogon, to be known as the Magallanes National Vocational High School: Provided, however, That only a general education curriculum with practical arts shall be offered in the first and second years, and the vocational education curriculum shall be offered in the third and fourth years: Provided, further, That the school shall offer short vocational courses for training in vocations needed in the locality which shall be open to elementary school graduates: Provided, finally, That the school shall open, as soon as feasible, two-year post secondary technical courses.

SEC. 2. Upon the recommendation of the Director of Vocational Education, the President of the Philippines shall set aside and reserve such portion of the public located in the town of Magallanes in the Second District of the Province of Sorsogon as may be necessary the site of said school.

SEC. 3. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for operation and maintenance of the said school for the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-one.  Thereafter, the necessary sums for the same purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
