[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2102, March 28, 1959 ]

AN ACT TO CREATE THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN ROQUE IN THE PROVINCE OF SAMAR.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. There is hereby created in the Province of Samar a municipality to be known as the Municipality, of San Roque, which shall consist of the portion of the Municipality of Pambujan of the same province, more particularly described and bounded as follows:

On the North by the limits of the municipal water which San Roque shall have pursuant to section twenty-three hundred twenty-one of the Revised Administrative Code.

On the Northeast in straight line starting from the seashore down to the Cacapisan Creek passing Dale up to the bank of the Pambujan River.

On the East thru a straight line from the bank of the Pambujan River running southwesterly to the mouth of the Cabigaho Creek.

On the West by a straight line retaining the former boundary between Mondragon and Pambujan.

The Municipality of San Raque shall comprise the present barrios of Lao-angan, Coroconog, Dale, Balnasan, Bantayan, Pagsang-an, Malobago, Lawa-an, Ginagda-an, and Balud and the sitio of Cabigaho, and shall have its seat of government at the present barrio of Lao-angan.

The Municipality of Pambujan shall retain its present territory minus the portion thereof included in the Municipality of San Roque.

The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the Municipality of San Roque shall be appointed by the President, with the consent of the Commission on Appointments, and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
