[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6320, June 19, 1971 ]
ACT ESTABLISHING A NATIONAL TRADE SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF GENERAL SANTOS, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.
Be enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. A national trade school to be known as the General Santos National Trade School, shall be established in the City of General Santos: Provided, That a suitable site of at least eight hectares, well drained and preferably rectangular in shape, shall be acquired. The said school shall be under the supervision of the Bureau of Vocational Education: Provided, however, That only a general education curriculum with practical arts shall be offered in the first and second years, and the vocational education curriculum shall be offered in the third and fourth years: Provided, further, That the school shall offer short vocational courses for training in vocations needed in the locality which shall be open to elementary school graduates: Provided, finally, That the school shall open, as soon as feasible, two-year post-secondary technical courses.
SEC. 2. The sum of five hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the said school for the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-one. Thereafter operation and maintenance in subsequent years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
