AN ACT CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLAVERIA IN THE PROVINCE OF MASBATE
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The barrios of Claveria, Cawayan, Nonoc, Buyo, Taguilid, Boca Engaño, Peñafrancia, Maputing Bay-bay, Quezon, San Isidro, Mabiton, Nabasagan, San Ramon and Calpi are separated from the Municipality of San Pascual, Province of Masbate, and are constituted into a distinct and independent municipality to be known as the Municipality of Claveria, same province. The boundary line of this municipality and the Municipality of San Pascual shall be a straight line from the northernmost point in the sitio of Boñga in the barrio of Cawayan to the northernmost point of the sitio of Mahabang Baybay in the barrio of Calpi. The seat of the government shall be located at the site of the present barrio of Claveria.
SEC. 2. The first mayor, vice-mayor, and councilors of the new municipality shall be appointed by the President subject to the confirmation of the Commission on Appointments, and shall hold office until their successors shall have been elected in the next general elections for local officials and shall have qualified.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
