[ BATAS PAMBANSA BLG. 283, November 14, 1982 ]
AN ACT CONSTITUTING SITIO MAAWI, IN BARANGAY ALOS, MUNICIPALITY OF ALAMINOS, PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, INTO A NEW BARANGAY TO BE KNOWN AS BARANGAY MAAWI.
SECTION 1. The Sitio of Maawi in Barangay Alos, Municipality of Alaminos, Province of Pangasinan, is hereby separated from said barangay and constituted into a distinct and independent barangay of said municipality, to be known as Barangay Maawi.
SEC. 2. Barangay Maawi shall be bounded and described as follows:
"A proposed Barangay Maawi, being a portion of Barangay Alos, Municipality of Alaminos, Province of Pangasinan, Island of Luzon. Bounded on the N., along line M.B.M. No. 14-B.B.M. No. 51 by Barangay Balayang; on the N.E. at B.B.M. No. 51 by Barangay Bolaney and along line B.B.M. No. 51-B.B.M. No. 52 by Barangay Alos Norte; on the S.E. along line B.B.M. No. 52-B.B.M. No. 58-M.B.M. No. 12.M.B.M. No. 14, by the Municipality of Mabini. Beginning at a point marked M.B.M. No. 14 on the prepared proposed Maawi Plan, being S. 36 deg., 47'W., 5,592.25 m. from BLLM No. 1, CAD-325-D Alaminos Cadastre; thence S. 84 deg., 19'E., 836.28 m. to point B.B.M. No. 51; thence S. 27 deg., 00'E., 1422.56 m. to point B.B.M. No. 52; thence S. 35 deg, 41'W., 1110.18 m. to point B.B.M. No. 58; thence N. 67 deg., 26'W., 1216.96 m. to point M.B.M. No. 12; thence N. ;09 deg., 20'E., 1807.19 m. to point of beginning, containing an area of one hundred seventy-three point nine thousand four hundred twenty-two hectares (173.9422). All points referred to are indicated on the plan and marked on the ground by M.B.M. No. 14, B.B.M. No. 51, B.B.M. No. 52, B.B.M. No. 58 and M.B.M. No. 12. Bearings true, date prepared February 18, 1982 ."
SEC. 3. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected within ninety days from the approval of this Act, the President of the Philippines shall appoint the first officials of the new barangay who shall hold office until their successors shall have been duly elected and qualified.
SEC. 4. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the holding of the plebiscite, the expenses of which shall be charged to local funds.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
