AN ACT TO CONSIDER THE LATE PEDRO MA. SISON OF PANGASINAN, JUDGE OF FIRST INSTANCE, RETIRED, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE PAYMENT OF A GRATUITY TO HIS WIDOW.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

SECTION 1. The late Pedro Ma.  Sison of Pangasinan, judge of first instance, who rendered faithful and satisfactory services in the Government for a period of about twenty years, is considered retired and is granted a gratuity, payable to his widow, in the amount of thirteen thousand pesos, to be paid in seventy-two equal monthly installments. With the approval of the Secretary of Justice, and subject  to such rules and regulations as may be approved by the  Secretary of Finance, the right to the gratuity payments may be sold, transferred, or ceded to the National Investment Board or to any bank duly authorized to transact business in the Philippines. The gratuity provided for in this Act shall not be attached or levied upon in execution.

SEC. 2. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act, there is appropriated out of the funds set aside for the expenses of the Department of Justice, the sum of thirteen thousand pesos.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
