[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1477, June 11, 1978 ]

GRANTING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP TO RONALD IAN LAING.

WHEREAS, Ronald Ian Laing, a subject of Great Britain, has manifested his desire to become a Philippine citizen;

WHEREAS, Ronald Ian Laing was born on June 19, 1915, in Manila and has continuously resided in the Philippines since then;

WHEREAS, he was conferred a Presidential Service Award on June 11, 1977, for his special services to the Government of the Philippines and the Filipino people;

WHEREAS, he has mingled socially with our people, embraced our customs, traditions and ideals and learned to speak one of our dialects; and

WHEREAS, by virtue of his exceptional service and contributions to the betterment of our people and country, Ronald Ian Laing has proven himself worthy of all the rights, privileges and prerogatives of a citizen of this country.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President/Prime Minister of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby grant Philippine citizenship to RONALD IAN LAING with all the rights, privileges and prerogatives appurtenant thereto.

This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of June in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-eight.
