AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE AN INCREASE IN THE ENLISTED STRENGTH OF THE PHILIPPINE CONSTABULARY, TO APPROPRIATE NECESSARY FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated to be placed at the disposal of the Chief of the Philippine Constabulary subject to the approval of the Secretary of the Interior and the provisions hereinafter set forth, and for the purposes mentioned hereunder:
A. For the pay of the following additional men needed to increase the present strength of the Philippine Constabulary as authorized in Act Numbered Four thousand and seventy-four, otherwise known as Appropriation Act of nineteen hundred and thirty-four, and to be allocated by the said Chief of Constabulary as the exigencies of the service may require, to wit:
SEC. 2. The funds herein appropriated to carry out the purposes of this Act shall be released upon previous certification by the Secretary of Finance that such funds are available from the Insular Treasury.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.

Provided, however, That of this total increase of enlisted men not less than six hundred will be stationed in Mindanao and Sulu. 1. Two medical inspectors with rank of first lieutenant P4,080.00 2. Twenty of the present number of first sergeants will be reduced to sergeants and to provide forty-nine additional sergeants, giving a total of sixty-nine additional sergeants

For house allowance of four officer's with rank of first lieutenant 1,920.00 C. For the subsistence of additional men enumerated in paragraph A, at thirty centavos per day

For the clothing allowance of the number of men enumerated in paragraph A, at sixteen centavos per day and for their initial allowance of forty-eight pesos for the term of service for three years 196,095.20 E. For the purchase of rifles and new revolvers to arm the additional men asked for in paragraph A, and for miscellaneous equipment 221,000.00 F. Traveling expenses for personnel 10,000.00 G. Illumination and power service 4,000.00 H. Rental of buildings and ground 5,000.00 I. Supplies and materials (for repair of buildings) P48,000.00 Total P1,025,303.70
