[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8200, July 30, 1996 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE RIZAL MEMORIAL DISTRICT HOSPITAL IN DAPITAN CITY INTO A TERTIARY HOSPITAL, UNDER THE FULL ADMINISTRATIVE AND TECHNICAL SUPERVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE DR. JOSE RIZAL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Rizal Memorial District Hospital in the City of Dapitan, Province of Zamboanga del Norte, is hereby converted to a tertiary hospital to be known as the Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital.

SEC. 2. The said general hospital shall have the capabilities of a tertiary hospital, increasing its bed capacity to two hundred (200) beds and shall be under the direct administrative and technical supervision of the Department of Health (DOH).

SEC. 3. The Department of Health shall formulate the necessary guidelines for its operation as a tertiary hospital.

SEC. 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
