[ Act No. 61, December 21, 1900 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A HIGHWAY FROM THE VICINITY OF THE TOWN OF POZORUBIO, IN THE PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN, TO BAGUIO, IN THE PROVINCE OF BENGUET, AND APPROPRIATING SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS, MONEY OF THE UNITED STATES, FOR THAT PURPOSE.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. The construction of a highway from the vicinity of the town of Pozorubio, in the Province of Pangasinan, to the town of Baguio, in the Province of Benguet, is hereby authorized and directed, the same to be built under the general supervision of the Military Governor and the immediate direction of Captain Charles W. Mead, Thirty-sixth Infantry, United States Volunteers, who has been detailed by the Military Governor for that purpose, along the general line of survey recently made by Captain Meade for a railroad between said towns. He is hereby authorized and empowered to make all contracts for assistants, labor, supplies, and material necessary and proper for the performance of this work and will push the same to completion by July first, nineteen hundred and one.

SEC. 2. The sum of seventy-five thousand dollars money of the United States, is hereby appropriated out of any money now in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of defraying the expenses incident to the construction of the highway authorized in section one hereof.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
