[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1882, September 21, 1983 ]

GRANTING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP TO PEK ENG T. LIM

WHEREAS, Pek Eng T. Lim, a Chinese citizen, has manifested his desire to become a citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, he was born in Tagbilaran City, Bohol on February 10, 1950 and has decided to make this country his permanent home to which he shall forever owe and pledge his loyalty and allegiance;

WHEREAS, he has mingled socially with our people, embraced our customs, traditions, and ideals, and learned to speak one of our dialects;

WHEREAS, he is of good moral character, believes in the principles underlying the Philippine Constitution and is possessed of all the requisites for naturalization and does not suffer from any of the disqualifications under the Naturalization Law;

WHEREAS, by virtue of his unrelenting efforts to contribute to the enrichment of the medical profession, and his exceptional service in the prosperity of our people and country, Pek Eng T. Lim has proven himself worthy of all the rights, privileges and prerogatives appurtenant to a citizen of this country;

NOW, THEREFORE. I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby grant Philippine citizenship to PEK ENG T. LIM with all the rights, privileges and prerogatives appurtenant thereto.

This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 21st day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-three.
