[ LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 460, September 08, 1976 ]

INCREASE IN STIPENDS OF NATIONAL INTEGRATION STUDY GRANTEES

TO:
The Secretary of Education and Culture
The Commissioner of the Budget

WHEREAS, the educational interest, welfare and uplift-merit of the poor and deserving members of cultural communities have primarily been the growing concern of the government;

WHEREAS, the government recognizes the inadequacy of the existing financial assistance extended to the National Integration Study Grantees;

NOW. THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, do hereby order and direct:
  1. The increase, effective September 1, 1976, of the stipend or allowance of each grantee under the National Integration Study Grant Program to an amount not exceeding P2,500 per school year or P250 per month, exclusive of tuition and other school fees and the grant of an annual book allowance of P500 per grantee, within the prescribed period of the grant;
  2. The Budget  Commissioner to release the amount necessary to fund the increased rates, to be funded from the Special Activities Fund.
  3. Letter of Instructions No. 271 is hereby repealed accordingly.
