AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-ONE, ENTITLED "AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WEATHER BUREAU FOR THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS AND APPROPRIATING EIGHT THOUSAND AND SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS AND FIFTY CENTS, IN MONEY OF THE UNITED STATES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF METEOROLOGICAL INSTRUMENTS AND APPARATUS AND THE INSTALLATION OF THE SAME."
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-one, entitled "An Act providing for the establishment of a Weather Bureau for the Philippine Islands and appropriating eight thousand and sixty-six dollars and fifty cents, in money of the United States, for the purchase of meteorological instruments and apparatus and the installation of the same," is hereby amended by striking out of the next to the last line of section six the words "second-class stations, third-class stations or rain," so that the last clause of said sentence shall read as follows: "Provided, That if, as the work of establishing stations progresses, the Director shall find that in some instances places other than those named in this section are better suited to the requirements of the weather service, he is authorized to change the location of stations in his discretion."
SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
