AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED SEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY, ENTITLED "AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE EXAMINATION AND LICENSING OF APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITIONS OF MASTER, MATE, PATRON, AND ENGINEER OF SEAGOING VESSELS IN THE PHILIPPINE COASTWISE TRADE, AND PRESCRIBING THE NUMBER OF ENGINEERS TO BE EMPLOYED BY SUCH VESSELS."
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. Section seven of Act Numbered Seven hundred and eighty, entitled "An Act providing for the examination and licensing of applicants for the positions of master, mate, patron, and engineer of seagoing vessels in the Philippine coastwise trade, and prescribing the number of engineers to be employed by such vessels," is hereby amended by inserting, after the word "Islands" in the fourth line thereof, the following: "or an honorably discharged soldier, sailor, or marine of the United States."
SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
