[ Act No. 3943, November 29, 1932 ]

AN ACT DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY, NATIONAL THRIFT WEEK AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND THE DIRECTOR OF POSTS EACH TO CONDUCT A THRIFT CAMPAIGN DURING SAID WEEK, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. The first week of January of each year shall be known as the National Thrift Week.

SEC. 2. The Director of Posts, through the different post offices, and the Director of Education, through the public schools, shall each direct a campaign during said week to inculcate the habit of thrift and encourage the pupils and the general public to make deposits in savings banks or institutions duly established in accordance with the laws of the Philippine Islands.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
