WHEREAS, the present temporary lean months in domestic rice production expected to end by mid-October this year and a world-wide shortfall in rice harvests have resulted in the current unstable market situation for rice and corn.

WHEREAS, the price of corn grain in production centers has steadily risen due to unwarranted competition among traders; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable and for the benefit of the masses of our people that the price level of corn and other prime consumer commodities be stabilized;

NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premises, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby ordain and promulgate the following price control order for corn grits produced by mills having a capacity of more than 300 cavans corn grits per 24-hour milling days

It is further ordained and promulgated that white corn grits shall not be used for purposes other than direct human consumption.

This order shall take effect immediately.
