[ Commonwealth Act No. 73, October 23, 1936 ]

AN ACT PROHIBITING THE KILLING, HUNTING, WOUNDING OR TAKING AWAY OF BUBALUS MINDOREMIS, COMMONLY KNOWN AS TAMARAW.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

SECTION 1. The killing, hunting, wounding, or taking away of bubalus mindorensis, commonly known as tamaraw, for any purpose other than for the protection of person or property, or for scientific ends duly authorized by the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce, is hereby prohibited.

SEC. 2. Any person violating this Act shall be punished for each offense by imprisonment of not exceeding thirty days or by fine of not exceeding two hundred pesos, or by both such imprisonment and fine, in the discretion of the court.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
