[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 787, August 30, 1975 ]

RENAMING THE BATANGAS SCHOOL OF FISHERIES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF NASUGBU, PROVINCE OF BATANGAS, THE APOLINARIO R. APACIBLE SCHOOL OF FISHERIES.

WHEREAS, the Parent Teachers Association of the Batangas School of Fisheries in the Municipality of Nasugbu, Batangas, have strongly recommended the renaming of the school to the Apolinario R. Apacible School of Fisheries;

WHEREAS, it is the earnest desire of the people in the service area of the school to perpetuate the memory of the late Congressman Apolinario R. Apacible, whose dedicated concern for public education made possible the establishment of the school in 1956;

WHEREAS, the most fitting and proper way to acknowledge such a debt of gratitude is for the school to be named after him and thus keep his memory alive;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippine, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:

SECTION 1. The Batangas School of Fisheries at Nasugbu, Batangas is hereby named the APOLINARIO R. APACIBLE SCHOOL OF FISHERIES.

SEC. 2. This decree shall take effect upon its promulgation.
