[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2723, June 19, 1960 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF STA. CRUZ, PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF FIFTY THOUSAND PESOSFOR THE PURPOSE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. There shall be, under the Bureau of Medical Services, a twenty-five-bed general hospital in the Municipality of Sta. Cruz, Province of Marinduque, to be known as the Sta. Cruz Hospital.  The site for the said hospital shall be provided by the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Sta. Cruz in consultation with the Director of Medical Services.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Health shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry into effect the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 3. The sum of fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the maintenance and operation of the said hospital during the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred sixty-one: Provided, That no amount herein authorized to be appropriated will be released unless the Secretary of Health certifies that a suitable hospital building is available.  Such sums as may be necessary for its maintenance and operation in sequent years shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
