[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5365, June 15, 1968 ]

AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE LIDLIDDA STATION H0SPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LIDLIDDA, PROVINCE OF ILOCOS SUR AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. As defined in this Act, a station hospital shall mean a small hospital of not more than twenty-five bed capacity for the management of common medical and maternity cases and surgical emergencies requiring ordinarily a short period of confinement. Cases requiring complicated major surgery and/or elaborate diagnostic
examination or specialist treatment may not be confined in hospital but transferred to regular provincial or regional hospitals.

SEC. 2. There is hereby established in the Municipality of Lidlidda, Province of Ilocos Sur, a station hospital to be known as the Lidlidda Station Hospital with a bed capacity not less than ten nor more than twenty-five beds.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of Health shall cause the establishment of hospital, provide a suitable table of organization of not more than fourteen personnel and promulgate rules and regulations for its maintenance and operation. He may, if exigency of the service so demands, merge with local health units in the Municipality of Lidlidda, Province of Ilocos Sur, provided that the public health work of the latter unit will not be impaired.

SEC. 4. The sum of not to exceed fifty thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated for the establishment, maintenance and operation of hospital during the first fiscal year of its operation. Thereafter, such sums as may be needed, but not to exceed fifty thousand pesos, for the same purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
