[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 336, July 20, 1948 ]

AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES TO USE ANY SAVINGS FROM THE APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT IN THE GENERAL APPROPRIATION ACT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-NINE FOR THE OPERATION OF ALL EXISTING NORMAL SCHOOLS, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF ADDITIONAL NORMAL SCHOOLS, AND FOR THE REHABILITATION AND EXPANSION OF THE UPI AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL IN COTABATO, THE BUKIDNON AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL IN BUKIDNON, THE LAGANGILANG FARM SCHOOL IN ABRA AND THE CABAGAN FARM SCHOOL IN ISABELA.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Any provisions in the General Appropriation Act for the fiscal year nineteen hundred and forty-nine to the contrary notwithstanding, the President of the Philippines is authorized to use any savings from the appropriations for the Executive Department in the said Act for the following purposes: (1) operating all existing normal schools, including the payment of salaries of teachers and other personnel, the purchase of equipment, and for other necessary expenses; (2) establishing and operating additional normal schools, including the purchase and/or expropriation of sites, the construction of buildings, the payment of salaries of teachers and other personnel, the purchase of equipment, and for other necessary expenses; and (3) rehabilitating and expanding the activities of the Upi Agricultural  School in Cotabato, the Bukidnon Agricultural School in Bukidnon, the Lagangilang Farm School in Abra and the Cabagan Farm School in Isabela, including the purchase of tractors, motor fuel, and draft and breeding animals.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
