[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5209, June 15, 1968 ]

AN ACT STANDARDIZING THE SALARIES OF HEADS OF BUREAUS AND OFFICES AND OTHER OFFICIALS UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Any provision of law, executive order, rule or regulation to the contrary notwithstanding, the standardized salaries for heads of bureaus and offices and other officials under the Department of Labor are hereby fixed as follows:

(a)  Bureau   directors  and   heads   of  offices,   Director of  Workmen's  Compensation,  Director  of Labor  Standards, Director of Women and Minors, Director of Labor Relations, Director of Apprenticeship, Director of Field Operations,  Chief of Manpower Services,  and Assistant to the Secretary,  at the salary rate of WAPCO range 69, per annum;

(b)  Associate Commissioner, Workmen's Compensation Commission   and   Labor   Standards Commission, at the
salary rate of WAPCO range 68, per annum;

(c)  Chief of Legal Staff, at the Salary rate of WAPCO range 68, per annum;

(d)  Supervising  Labor  Administrator,   at  the   salary rate of WAPCO range 67, per annum;

(e)  Regional Labor Administrator, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 66, per annum;

(f) Chief of Services, and Assistant Regional Labor Administrator, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 65, per annum;

(g) Chief of Division, Senior Executive Assistant II and Labor Attache, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 61,per annum;

(h) Assistant Chief of Division, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 60, per annum;

(i) Chief, Workmen's Compensation Section, Labor Operations Section, Legal Adviser of Regional Offices, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 60, per annum;

(j) Chief, Inspection Section, Administrative Section and other sections of regional offices, at the salary rate of WAPCO   range   58,  per annum;

(k)  Other chiefs of sections, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 57, per annum;

(l)   Assistant Chief of Section, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 56, per annum;

(m)  Hearing Officer III, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 56,per annum;

(n)   Hearing Officer II, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 54,per annum;

(o)   Hearing Officer I, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 52, per annum;

(p)  Labor Attorney III, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 54,per annum;

(q)  Labor Attorney II, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 52, per annum;

(r)  Labor Attorney I, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 50, per annum;

(s)  Compensation Rating Medical Officer, at the salary rate  of WAPCO  range 54, per annum;
(t)  Labor Conciliator II, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 52, per annum;;

(u) Labor Conciliator I, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 48,per annum;

(v) Industrial Safety Engineer II, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 51, per annum;

(w) Industrial Safety Engineer I, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 48,per annum;

(x) Labor Inspector, at the salary rate of WAPCO range 43, per annum;

SEC. 2. Heads of bureaus and offices shall receive equal traveling and representation allowances to be paid out of the savings of their respective bureaus and offices.

SEC. 3. In order to carry out the provisions of this Act, the sum of two hundred thousand pesos or so much thereof as is necessary is hereby authorized to be ap­propriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, or from any savings of the Department of Labor to cover salary differentials from July one, nineteen hundred sixty-seven to June thirty, nineteen hundred sixty-eight. Thereafter, the said sum shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
