[ Act No. 3040, March 10, 1922 ]

AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND PESOS, OUT OF ANY FUNDS IN THE INSULAR TREASURY NOT OTHERWISE APPROPRIATED, FOR THE PURCHASE OF A PARCEL OF LAND ON THE ISLAND OF LIMASAWA, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, AND THE CONSTRUCTION ON THE SAID LAND OF A PUBLIC SCHOOL TO BE DENOMINATED "MAGELLAN PUBLIC SCHOOL,'' AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority  of the  same:

SECTION  1.  The sum of fifteen  thousand pesos is hereby appropriated,  out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purchase of a parcel of land on the Island of Limasawa, Province of Leyte, and the erection thereon of a public school to be denominated "Magellan Public School,"  as a memorial to  that great navigator who brought to these Islands  the germ of the Western civilization, now  enjoyed by their  inhabitants.

SEC. 2.  This Act shall take effect on  its approval.
