[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3617, June 22, 1963 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE CANTILAN GENERAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CAN­TILAN, PROVINCE OF SURIGAO DEL SUR, INTO A NATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES TO BE KNOWN AS THE CANTILAN NATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THERE­FOR.





Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Cantilan General High School in the Municipality of Cantilan, Province of Surigao del Sur, is hereby converted into a national school of arts and trades to be known as the Cantilan National School of Arts and Trades. Secondary courses shall be offered in said school.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to issue such rules and regulations to carry out the purpose of this Act.

SEC. 3. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the conversion, operation and maintenance of said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-four.  Thereafter, such sums as may be needed for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriation Acts.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
