[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1567, June 16, 1956 ]
AN ACT CONVERTING THE LANAO PROVINCIAL HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED IN THE CITY OF DANSALAN, INTO A NATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES TO BE KNOWN AS THE LANAO SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The Lanao Provincial High School located in the City of Dansalan, Lanao, is hereby converted into a national school of arts and trades of the Zamboanga School of Arts and Trades type, to be known as the Lanao School of Arts and Trades.
SEC. 2. The Director of Public Schools is hereby empowered to organize said school. He may acquire, or cause to be acquired, a suitable site for said school, which may be private or public land situated within the Province of Lanao.
SEC. 3. The said school shall be exclusively for boys and shall be under the supervision of the Bureau of Public Schools, and shall be subject to the provisions of the School Law. Courses of junior collegiate and secondary levels shall be offered in the said school.
SEC. 4. The sum of three hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment of said school including the acquisition of the necessary site therefor and the operation and maintenance thereof during the current fiscal year. Such sum as thereafter may be necessary for the operation and maintenance of said school shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
