[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 2618, March 22, 1960 ]
AN ACT TRANSFERRING THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE LABORERS' DWELLING ESTABLISHED UNDER ACT NUMBERED FORTY-ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR FROM THE SECRETARY OF LABOR TO THE PEOPLE'S HOMESITE AND HOUSING CORPORATION AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled;
SECTION 1. All functions, powers and authority, vested on the Secretary of Labor under Act Numbered Forty-one hundred and eighty-four, as amended, are hereby transferred to the People's Homesite and Housing Corporation together with all the appropriations provided for in said Act.
SEC. 2. All the lands and buildings comprising what is known as the Government Tenement Houses situated Vitas, Tondo, Manila, acquired by the Government and the administration of which is entrusted to the Secretary of Labor by virtue of said Act Numbered Forty-one hundred and eighty-four, as amended, are hereby transferred to the People's Homesite and Housing Corporation for its administration and maintenance, together with all the monies and records pertaining to said lands and buildings, and the personnel in charge thereof.
SEC. 3. The People's Homesite and Housing Corporation in fixing the rentals that shall be charged in these tenement houses shall take as a primary consideration the income of the tenants therein.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
