[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 333, November 09, 1973 ]

AUTHORIZING AS AN EMERGENCY MEASURE THE IMPORTATION, FREE OF DUTIES, OF CERTAIN FINISHED PETROLEUM PRODUCTS FOR A LIMITED PERIOD.[*]

WHEREAS, because of unforeseen events there is a threatened cutback of crude oil supply;

WHEREAS, such a cutback will lead to a shortfall of the production of finished oil products; and

WHEREAS, there is now an urgent need to fill up the shortfall of the petroleum products through their importation;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution as Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and pursuant to Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972, and General Order No. 1, dated September 22, 1972, as amended, do hereby order and decree the following:

SECTION 1. Any provision of existing law, executive or administrative order, or rule or regulation to the contrary notwithstanding, the importation, free from duties, of gasoline, kerosene, diesels, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, aviation-turbo fuel, and aviation gas by persons or entities duly authorized by the Oil Industry Commission, shall be allowed for a period of 45 days from the approval of this Decree unless sooner terminated by the President.

SEC. 2. Any law or order inconsistent herewith is hereby revoked, amended or modified accordingly.
