WHEREAS, I have authorized the National Bureau of Investigation to host the 49th General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Manila from 13 November to 21 November 1980;

WHEREAS, the Organization has been established to promote international cooperation and coordination, development and advancement on matters relating to Law Enforcement among some 131 member-countries the world over;

WHEREAS, the forthcoming General Assembly will bring honor and prestige to the country, it being the first time that such assembly will be held in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, holding the Assembly in Manila will help focus attention on the advances made by our country in providing law and order to all people, as well as project to the international community the economic, social, political and cultural achievements of the New Society;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the power vested in me by the Constitution, hereby direct that all government ministries, corporations, agencies and offices extend their full assistance and support to the organizing committee in its work.
