AN ACT CONVERTING THE SAGAY MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAGAY, PROVINCE OF NEGROS OCCIDENTAL INTO A BRANCH OF THE ILOILO STATE COLLEGE OF FISHERIES, TO BE KNOWN AS THE ILOILO STATE COLLEGE OF FISHERIES, SAGAY BRANCH, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.

Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:

SECTION 1. The Sagay Municipal High School in the Municipality of Sagay, Province of Negros Occidental, is hereby converted into a branch of the Iloilo State College of Fisheries, to be known as the Iloilo State College of Fisheries, Sagay Branch. The college shall primarily provide technological and vocational instruction and training in fisheries science, as well as short term technical or vocational courses in fisheries to meet the manpower needs of the region.

SEC. 2. The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports is hereby empowered to reorganize said school accordingly.

SEC. 3. The amount of one hundred thousand pesos for the operation of the school shall be funded out of the appropriations authorized by Batas Pambansa Blg. 131 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 230 for the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports intended for new national schools: Provided, That the local government unit concerned shall continue to provide funding for its share in the maintenance and operation of the school. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
