[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1673, February 08, 1980 ]
TO REVISE TARIFF HEADING 76.04 OF THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1978 AND TO MODIFY THE RATE OF DUTY ON IMPORTED ALUMINUM FOIL PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1628.
WHEREAS, for the purpose of conserving foreign exchange and to encourage continued local production of some aluminum foil products, the reduction in tariff of said products shall be limited to those which will reduce the price of inputs in the food processing industry;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby decree and order as follows:
SECTION 1. Tariff Heading 76.04 of the Tariff and Customs Code of 1978 is hereby revised to read as follows:
Aluminum foil (whether or not embossed, cut to shape, perforated, coated, printed or backed with paper or other reinforcing material), of a thickness (excluding any backing) not exceeding 0.20 millimeter:
A. [Aluminum Reinforced Paper Packing Material] ALUMINUM FOIL BACKED WITH WAX-COATED, PRINTED PAPER AND LAMINATED WITH PLASTIC MATERIAL USED FOR PACKAGING LIQUID PRODUCTS, WHEN IMPORTED DIRECTLY BY GOOD PROCESSORS Ad Val. 10%B. Others .... [Ad. Val. 20%] ... Ad. Val.30%
SECTION 2. Repealing Clause. - Any and all acts, statutes, decrees, rules, regulations or parts thereof inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
SECTION 3. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
