[ Act No. 2502, February 05, 1915 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SUBSECTION (B) OF SECTION TWENTY-ONE OF ACT NUMBERED EIGHTY-TWO, KNOWN AS THE MUNICIPAL CODE, BY PROVIDING THAT THE MUNICIPAL TREASURER MAY PAY THE SALARIES OF THE MUNICIPAL OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND TEACHERS WITHOUT THE NECESSITY OF THE PAY ROLL BEING PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section twenty-one of Act Numbered Eighty-two, known as the Municipal Code is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"(6) He shall keep a detailed account of all moneys received and shall pay the same out only under authority of an ordinance or resolution of the council and upon a warrant signed by the president and countersigned by the municipal secretary: Provided, That salaries of municipal officers and employees, whose positions have been duly provided for in the annual or special appropriation, may be paid, without further prior action of the municipal; council, upon duly authenticated pay rolls or vouchers, which pay rolls or vouchers shall be submitted to the council at its next meeting for its action and the drawing of proper warrants by the municipal president.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
