[ Act No. 403, May 22, 1902 ]

AN ACT PROVIDING THAT ENGLISH SHALL BE THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF THE COURT OF CUSTOMS APPEALS CREATED BY ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FIVE.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

SECTION 1. The official language of the Court of Customs Appeals, created by virtue of Act Numbered Three hundred and fifty-five, entitled "An Act to constitute the Customs Service of the Philippine Archipelago and to provide for the organization thereof," and of its records, shall be the English language, anything in existing legislation to the contrary notwithstanding. The court shall make suitable provision by its rules and by the use of interpreters for the convenience of parties who are unable to speak the English language.

SEC. 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
