[ Act No. 2669, December 14, 1916 ]
AN ACT AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-SIX HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE AND MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPENSES OF THE PHILIPPINE SENATE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
SECTION 1. Section one of Act Numbered Twenty-six hundred and sixty-five is herebjr amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of one hundred and sixty-one thousand two hundred and ninety-three pesos and thirty-three centavos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be expended by authority of the Philippine Senate, during the period from October sixteenth, nineteen hundred and sixteen, to December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and sixteen, for the following purposes: salaries of the President and members of the Senate; salaries and compensations of subordinate personnel; salaries and wages of officers and employees of other blanches of the Government who, at the request of the President of the Philippine Senate and with the consent of their respective chiefs, render services to the Senate in addition to their ordinary duties; traveling and transportation expenses of the President of the Senate in Manila; traveling expenses of the Senators and their actual and necessary expenses for board and lodging during the session; rent of buildings; furniture and equipment, including uniforms of officers and messengers of the Senate; stationery, printing and binding; postage, telegrams, cablegrams and telephones; lighting; and other incidental expenses in connection with the organization and operation of the Senate: Provided, That the salary of the President of the Senate for the period from October sixteenth to December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and sixteen, inclusive, shall be payable at the annual rate of compensation provided by Act Numbered Twenty-five hundred and forty for the Speaker of the Philippine Assembly; and the salary of each Senator for the same period shall be at the rate of two thousand five hundred and twenty pesos each."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
