AN ACT TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF POSTGRADUATE COURSES AND FELLOWSHIPS IN MEDICINE IN THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

SECTION 1. The sum of one hundred thousand pesos is appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment of post graduate courses and fellowships in medicine in the college of medicine of the University of the Philippines: Provided, That not more than twenty-five per centum of the amount herein appropriated shall be expended for said fellowships.

SEC. 2. Graduated fellowships in medicine may be granted by the Board of regents of the University of the Philippines to poor but deserving medical practitioners, including those connected with the Government who have practiced their profession for a period of at least five years in the Philippines. Such fellowships shall be awarded through competitive tests.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
