AN ACT CONVERTING THE MIAG-AO NATIONAL VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MIAG-AO, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, INTO A NATIONAL POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE, TO BE KNOWN AS THE SOUTHERN ILOILO POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Batasang Pambansa in session assembled:
SECTION 1. The Miag-ao National Vocational High School in the Municipality of Miag-ao, Province of Iloilo, is converted into a national polytechnic college to be known as the Southern Iloilo Polytechnic College.
SEC. 2. In addition to the secondary vocational course, the college shall offer undergraduate and graduate courses, industrial technology, sciences, arts, and other courses as may be authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. It shall also offer short-term vocational courses.
SEC. 3. All personnel, assets, liabilities, records, and appropriations of the Miag-ao National Vocational High School are transferred to and shall fee absorbed by the Southern Iloilo Polytechnic College.
SEC. 4. The amount necessary for the operation and maintenance of the College shall be charged to the appropriations in Batas Pambansa Bilang 230 intended for the Miag-ao National Vocational High School under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for the same purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
