AN ACT AMENDING SECTION EIGHT OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHT.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. Section eight of Act Numbered Twenty-three hundred and eight, entitled "An Act abolishing the Bureau of Navigation and transferring to other Bureaus certain property, equipment, functions, and duties hitherto appertaining thereto; providing for the sale of certain property, authorizing the sale or lease of the marine railway and repair shop, and repealing certain provisions of law relating to the Bureau of Navigation," is hereby amended to read as follows:
SEC. 3. That part of section one of Act Numbered Fourteen hundred and sixteen, beginning with "Marine Railway and Repair Shop, Bureau of Navigation," and ending with "Marine Railway and Repair Shop are hereby transferred from account of other appropriations of the Bureau of Navigation to this account," is hereby continued in full force and effect so long as may be necessary, in the discretion of the Governor-General, to permit of the continuance of the operation of the marine railway and repair shop: Provided, That the designation of Secretary of Commerce and Police and Director of Navigation shall be understood to be the designations of Secretary of Finance and Justice and Insular Collector of Customs.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.

Sections fourteen (a), fourteen (c), sixteen (a) repealed and sixteen (b) of Act Numbered Fourteen hundred and seven; Acts Numbered Thirteen hundred and thirty-nine, Fifteen hundred and sixty-eight, and Seventeen hundred and ninety-six, and all other Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, though not especially mentioned herein, are hereby repealed."SEC. 2. The provisions of section fourteen (5) of Act Numbered Fourteen hundred and seven are hereby continued in effect, and the functions and duties provided in said section to be performed by the Bureau of Navigation shall hereafter devolve upon and be performed by the Bureau of Customs in the manner provided by Act Numbered Twenty-three hundred and eight until otherwise provided by law: Provided, That the designation of Secretary of Commerce and Police and Director of Navigation shall be understood to be the designations of Secretary of Finance and Justice and Insular Collector of Customs.
