[ Act No. 3341, December 07, 1926 ]

AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR PUBLIC WORKS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as -may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be at the disposal of the Director of Public Works, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Commerce and Communi­cations and the provisions hereinafter set forth, for the purposes mentioned hereunder:

A. COMPLETION AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND OTHER UNCLASSIFIED PROJECTS

(a) For the maintenance, alteration, improvement, and repair of public build­ings, including adjacent grounds........ P450,000.00

(b) For the construction, improvement, and repair of the following agricultural schools in regularly organized provinces:

1.
Agricultural school of Central Luzon, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija

Agricultural school at Baybay, Leyte

3.
Agricultural school at Lagangilang, Abra

4.
Agricultural school at Catarman, Samar , including the purchase of lands

Agricultural school of Bohol, for the purchase of lands

(c) For the construction, improvement, and repair of agricultural schools in spe­cially organized provinces:

(d)
For the construction, improvement, and repair of normal schools, high schools, and trade schools:

For the construction of a Normal School at Legaspi, Albay

For the construction of the Surigao High School

For aid for the construction of the High School at Bacolod , Occidental Negros

(e) Insular aid for the construction of the building for the branch of the Uni­versity of the Philippines in the City of Cebu , equal to the sum appro-priated for said project by the munic­ipality and Province of Cebu ............ P30,000.00

(f) For aid to municipalities for the con­struction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, extension, and completion of the following elementary and in­termediate schools:

Sec. 2. All balances of the several appropriations made by this Act the destination of which has not been deter­mined by proper authority on July thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven, and all balances of appropria­tions remaining unexpended on July thirtieth, nineteen hundred and twenty-eight, shall revert to the unappro­priated funds in the Insular Treasury, and thereafter shall not be available for expenditure except upon appropriation by the Legislature.

Sec. 3. The sums appropriated by paragraphs (a), (h), (II), (u), (cc), (dd), (ee), (kk), and (l-l) shall be distrib­uted in the discretion of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications, but those appropriated in the other paragraphs, except the appropriation for the completion of the Manila Post-office Building , shall be available for im­mediate expenditure by the Director of Public Works.

Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect on January first, nine­teen hundred and twenty-seven.
