AN ACT MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR CURRENT EXPENSES AND PUBLIC WORKS AND PERMANENT IMPROVEMENTS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF MINDANAO AND SULU AND THE PROVINCE OF AGUSAN FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST, NINETEEN HUNDRED FOURTEEN.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. The following sums or so much thereof as may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated as Insular aid to the Department of Mindanao and Sulu and the Province of Agusan for the fiscal year ending December thirty-first, nineteen hundred fourteen:
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect as of January first, nineteen hundred fourteen.

SECTION 1. The following sums or so much thereof as may be necessary, are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated as Insular aid to the Department of Mindanao and Sulu and the Province of Agusan for the fiscal year ending December thirty-first, nineteen hundred fourteen:
DEPARTMENT OF MINDANAO AND SULU.(a) For primary schools, public hospitals, and dispensary stations, and the construction of roads, trails, and telephone lines in the Department of Mindanao and Sulu, to be disbursed by the legislative council of said department P225,000.00 PROVINCE OF AGUSAN.(b) For salaries and wages for the Province of Agusan, including the salary of the provincial governor at five thousand five hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor at three thousand two hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for the district of Wawa-Ojot at one thousand five hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for the district of Gibung-Simulao at one thousand two hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for the district of Umayam at one thousand two hundred pesos per annum; lieutenant-governor for the sub-province of Bukidnon at three thousand six hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for Western Bukidnon at one thousand eight hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for Southern Bukidnon at one thousand four hundred pesos per annum; assistant to the provincial governor for Northern Bukidnon at seven hundred and twenty pesos per annum; provincial secretary-treasurer at three thousand six hundred pesos per annum: Provided, That should the secretary-treasurer perform the duties of superintendent of Manobo Stores he may receive additional compensation at the rate of nine hundred pesos per annum, Act Numbered One hundred forty-eight to the contrary notwithstanding; per diems of the third member of the provincial board; share of Agusan of the salary of the fiscal for the district of Agusan, Misamis, and Surigao; share of the salary of the clerk to said fiscal, and a proportionate part of the salaries of clerks to the district auditor; for salaries and wages of such employees as may be authorized by resolution of the provincial board, with the approval of the Executive Secretary; and for general provincial expenses of said province; including actual and necessary traveling expenses and per diems of officers and employees under the provisions of Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and ninety-six; for transportation of supplies; purchase of supplies; purchase of equipment; maintenance and repair of equipment; office expenses; printing and binding; postage and telegrams; purchase of uniforms for jail guards and wardens; maintenance of official transportation; purchase of land transportation equipment, including work animals and saddle horses; seeds; alteration, maintenance and repair of provincial buildings ; rents; maintenance and repair of bridges, roads, trails and telephone lines and the removal of obstructions in rivers; maintenance of parks and monuments; maintenance of water works and artesian wells; maintenance of public animals, including breeding animals, loaned by the Bureau of Agriculture; court expenses; maintenance of prisoners; maintenance and operation of launches; sanitary and burial fund for indigent persons; proportionate part of the fees for bonds of officers; for a fund to be expended by the provincial governor in the manner funds are provided to be expended by Act Numbered Six hundred and eighty-two under the head of "Provincial Government of Lepanto-Bontoc;" and other incidental expenses 67,516.00 Public works and permanent improvements.(c) For the surfacing with stone and gravel of the Butuan-Cabadbaran Road; for the survey of the Cabadbaran-Lake Maynit Eoad; for the construction of a road leading out of the south side of the Mangima canyon; for widening the present trail between Maluco and Sumilao; for sanitary arrangements in the provincial building at Butuan; for removing obstructions in river channels; for the purchase of animals and carts for road work; for purchase of general equipment, including necessary wheelbarrows, shovels, picks, and track and dump cars for use on public works and permanent improvements; for purchase or construction of a barge
