[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8949, August 31, 2000 ]

AN ACT AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NUMBER 8734 ENTITLED "AN ACT SEPARATING THE PASIL MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL ALSO KNOWN AS THE DOÑA EUFRONIA M. PUZON MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL - PASIL ANNEX IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PASIL, PROVINCE OF KALINGA, FROM THE DOÑA EUFRONIA M. PUZON MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PASIL, AND CONVERTING IT INTO A SEPARATE AND INDEPENDENT NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE PASIL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR"



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section 1 of Republic Act No. 8734 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The Pasil Municipal High School, also known as Doña Eufronia M. Puzon Memorial High School - Pasil Annex in the Municipality of Pasil, Province of Kalinga, is hereby separated from the Doña Eufronia M. Puzon Memorial High School in the Municipality of Tabuk, and converted into a separate and independent national high school to be known as Pasil National High School."
SEC. 2. The title of Republic Act No. 8734 shall now read as follows:
"An Act Separating The Pasil Municipal High School Also Known As The Dona Eufronia M. Puzon Memorial High School -Pasil Annex In The Municipality Of Pasil, Province Of Kalinga, From The Dona Eufronia M. Puzon Memorial High School In The Municipality of Tabuk, And Converting It Into A Separate And Independent National High School To Be Known As The Pasil National High School, And Appropriating Funds Therefor."
SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 8, 1998 and June 8, 2000,  respectively.
