WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) is the organization composed of more than 68,495 registered civil engineer-members in 97 chapters and some 15,135 civil engineering student-members in 166 student chapters throughout the country; 

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of the civil engineering profession and highlight its role in nation building; 

WHEREAS, the PICE will celebrate œCivil Engineering Week  on 14 to 18 November 2011, in conjunction of the 37 th National Convention on 17 to 19 November 2011 at the Limketkai Atrium and .Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center, Cagayan de Oro City.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period of 14 to 18 November 2011 as œCivil Engineering Week,  under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.

I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
