[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 822, July 21, 2009 ]

DIRECTING THE DEPUTY EXECUTIVE SECRETARY FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT TO SIT AS EX-OFFICIO MEMBER OF THE PAGCOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS



WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 330-A, series of 2006 transferred the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation [PAGCOR] from the Department of Finance to the Office of the President as an attached agency of the latter;

WHEREAS, under PD 1869, PAGCOR charter, the PAGCOR Board of Directors ( œBoard ) shall submit to the Office of the President of the Philippines before the end of February of each year a list of all the infrastructure and/or socio-civic projects that might have been financed from the Corporation ™s earnings, and to submit such periodic or other reports as may be required of it from time to time;

WHEREAS, under the same charter, the Board may perform such other powers, functions and duties as may be directed and authorized by the President of the Philippines or as may be necessary or proper for the accomplishment of its purposes and objectives;

WHEREAS, the 1987 Revised Administrative Code of the Philippines vests power in the President to reorganize the national government.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. The Deputy Executive Secretary for Finance and Administration, Office of the President, shall sit as ex-officio member of the PAGCOR Board of Directors.

SECTION 2. All orders, rules and regulations and issuances or parts thereof which are inconsistent with this Order are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

SECTION 3. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
