[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8400, November 22, 1997 ]
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE CONVERSION OF THE GUIUAN MUNICIPAL HIGH SCHOOL INTO A NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE GUIUAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The Guiuan Municipal High School in the Municipality of Guiuan, Province of Eastern Samar is hereby converted into a national high school to be known as the Guiuan National High School.
SEC. 2. All personnel, assets, liabilities and records of the Guiuan Municipal High School are hereby transferred to and absorbed by the Guiuan National High School.
SEC. 3. The Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue the necessary rules and memorandum for the proper implementation of the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SEC. 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
Approved, Lapsed into law on November 22, 1997, without the signature of the President, in accordance with Article VI, Section 27 (1) of the Constitution.
