AN ACT SO AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-EIGHT AS TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE COLLEGE OF SAN JOSE TO PAY F. C. FISHER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS, IN LOCAL CURRENCY, FOR HIS SERVICES AS TRANSLATOR.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
SECTION 1. Act Numbered One hundred and forty-eight, entitled "An Act regulating expenditure or money under appropriations, forbidding the allowances to officers or clerks for extra compensation, except in ease of clerks or employees acting as night teachers in the public schools, and regulating the payment of traveling expenses," is hereby amended so as to authorize the board of trustees of the College of San Jose of the city of Manila to pay to F. C. Fisher, clerk of the Supreme Court of the Philippine Islands, the sum of one hundred and eighty-eight dollars, in local currency, for translation work done by him in connection with the litigation for the possession of the property of said college instituted pursuant to Act Numbered Sixty-nine of the Philippine Commission.
SEC. 2. The payment authorized by this Act shall be made from the funds appropriated by Act Numbered Sixty-nine to defray the expenses of the litigation in the matter of title to the property of the College of San Jose.
SEC. 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
