[ GTEB MEMORANDUM NO. 90-05, January 02, 1991 ]

AMENDMENT/CLARIFICATIONS ON ISSUES RAISED RE: NEW ID SYSTEM

1.  Considering the comments and recommendations of the private sector on the issues raised on the new ID system, the Board in its meeting of March 1, 1990 decided that the present GTEB ID and authorization and signature verification system shall be maintained.

2.  There are two types of GTEB ID: the messenger ™s ID and the representative ™s ID.

3.  Exporters ™ employees doing purely messengerial jobs (i.e. filing and releasing documents) need not attend a seminar and pass an exam to get a messenger ™s ID, but they must file an application for said ID.

4.  Representatives ™ ID ™s are issued upon attendance of a GTEB seminar and successful completion of a qualifying exam, either by the representative who will be coming to GTEB or the person in the exporter ™s office responsible for filling up the application form.

5.  Firms shall have a maximum of five (5) signatories.  Those firms, however, which may need additional signatories for justifiable reasons shall request Board ™s approval.  Being a signatory does not require taking a seminar and passing the examination unless the signatory is the person designated by the firm to take the exam as provided in provision 4 above.

Please be guided accordingly.
