[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8422, November 27, 1997 ]
AN ACT CONVERTING THE HIGH SCHOOL ADMINISTERED BY THE PARENT-TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION AT BARANGAY MARCELINA, BAYUGAN, AGUSAN DEL SUR, INTO A NATIONAL GOVERNMENT-FUNDED SECONDARY SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE MARCELINA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
SECTION 1. The high school owned and administered by the Parent-Teachers' Association at Barangay Marcelina, Municipality of Bayugan, Province of Agusan del Sur, is hereby converted into a national secondary school, under the control and supervision of the national government through the Department of Education, Culture and Sports.
SEC. 2. This school shall be known officially as the Marcelina National High School.
SEC. 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
Approved, Lapsed into law on November 27, 1997, without the signature of the President, in accordance Article VI, Section 27 (1) of the Constitution.
