Pursuant to Section 1 of Republic Act No. 4653, An Act to Safeguard the Health of the People and Maintain the Dignity of the Nation by Declaring it a National Policy to Prohibit the Commercial Importation of Textile Articles Commonly Known as Used Clothing and Rags, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) shall hold in abeyance all applications for duty free entry of commercial quantities of used clothing until after a thorough review of the process and pertinent guidelines shall have been completed.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
