USE OF TEMPORARY PLATES



Pending the manufacture and distribution of permanent license plates to the Regional and District Offices, due to lack of sheeting materials, in pursuance to BP 43 & 74 implemented by A.O. No. 3, 1980 and further implemented by Cir. No. 82-028, the following rules and regulations on the use of temporary plates are hereby reiterated for the guidance of all concerned:

1. The Regional and District Offices which have run short of permanent license plates issued by the Central Office are authorized in extreme emergency cases to issue temporary plate numbers to registered motor vehicles;

2. The District Office shall assign and issue the corresponding agency code as reflected in MC No. 91-134 plus a three-digit number starting from 001 provided that the last digit of the temporary plate number shall correspond to the last digit of the regular permanent plate that will be used subsequently and shall become the basis of the registration schedule;

3. The District Office shall issue authority to use temporary plates signed by the TDO (Annex A)[*] .

4. The Records Officer shall maintain a log book where temporary plate numbers are entered according to classification and all entries thereof shall be in strict numerical sequence.
