ADMISSION OF WOMEN INTO THE CORPS OF COMMISSIONED OFFICERS OF THE COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY DEPARTMENT OF NAMRIA
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7192, otherwise known as the Women in Development and Nation Building Act, which directs all government departments to review and revise all regulations, circulars, issuances and procedures to remove gender bias therein, provisions of Department Administrative Order Nos. 31, s. 1988 and 2000-54 and other issuances pertaining to the admission of cadets and appointment/commissioning of officers in the Coast and Geodetic Survey Department of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority are hereby revised for the guidance and compliance of all concerned.
1. Women shall be accorded equal opportunities in the admission of cadets and appointment/commissioning of officers in the Corps of Commissioned Officers of the Coast and Geodetic Survey Department of NAMRIA, provided they meet the educational, physical, mental and other requirements of the service.
2. They shall also be accorded equal opportunities for training, work assignments and promotion, and entitled to the same benefits while in and upon separation from the service.
This Order shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in a newspaper of general circulation copy furnished the Office of the U.P. Law Center.
