The PPA Board of Directors, in its meeting held on January 24, 2000 (Board Resolution No. 2000-698), approved the following interim increases in cargo handling rates for domestic and foreign cargoes, to wit:

	Cargo Charg (Arrastre)e	Vessel Charge (Stevedoring)
1.         Non-Containerized(Domestic & Foreign Except MICT & SH)	10%	10%
2.         Containerized(Domestic & Foreign Except MICT and SH)	8%	8%
3.         Ro-Ro Cargoes	10% ((Handling Fee)

To effect the increases in rates the following shall be observed:

1.         The new rates for non-containerized and containerized cargoes shall be rounded off to the nearest P0.05 and P0.50, respectively;

2.         Rates for special, extra labor and other related cargo handling services in the tariff shall also be adjusted in accordance with the approved increases; and.

3.         The Commercial Services Department shall within fifteen (15) days from date of issuance of this circular, make the necessary adjustments in the cargo handling tariffs of all ports entitled to the approved increase.

This circular shall take effect on 16 February 2000.
